Standardised Intelepower DC systems engineered for remote mining infrastructure across Western Australia.

Project Overview

Century Yuasa Power Systems Division partnered with two Western Australian EPC organisations to deliver standardised Intelepower 110V DC power systems and Yuasa UXL VRLA battery technology across multiple remote mining projects in WA. The systems were designed to support critical protection and control infrastructure operating in demanding environments characterised by elevated temperatures, constrained installation footprints and limited maintenance access.

Reliable DC Power for WA Mining

The Challenge

Projects delivered across multiple remote sites required reliable standby power systems capable of maintaining performance under harsh operating conditions. Key engineering challenges included high ambient temperatures, limited installation space and strict compliance requirements. With sites located significant distances from metropolitan service centres, long-term reliability and serviceability were critical design considerations.

The Intelepower Solution

Working collaboratively with EPC engineering teams and the asset owner, Century Yuasa provided technical leadership across system design, compliance alignment and footprint optimisation. The solution included custom-designed Intelepower DC power systems integrated with Yuasa UXL VRLA batteries engineered for long-duration standby performance in remote and high-temperature environments. All systems were configured to meet Australian and international compliance standards.

Outcomes

Following successful project delivery, Century Yuasa was engaged directly by the mining organisation to support the development of a standardised 110V DC power system specification for future sites. The project delivered improved deployment consistency, strengthened confidence in system reliability and reduced operational risk across remote mining infrastructure. Ongoing support is provided through Australian-based engineering, manufacturing and service teams, reinforcing long-term lifecycle performance and local capability.
