Which Battery Lasts Longest?

Get to know the new SLR500 VRLA, the powerful, long-lasting battery that uses advanced nano-carbon technology to work twice as hard as others.

Here at Century Yuasa, we’re always working to innovate and develop new energy storage technologies. When it comes to battery energy storage, our customers tell us they want longer lasting, safer and lower maintenance solutions. That’s why we’re so excited to be able to launch the latest SLR500 valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery.

Longer Lasting

This nano-carbon, deep cycle VRLA battery offers unbeatable longevity. It’s designed to last for 15 years, with 5,500 cycles at 50% Depth of Discharge (DOD) (5,000 cycles at 70% DOD). The secret to its longevity is nano-carbon. The lead-acid batteries most people would be familiar with consist of two plates of lead electrodes that are suspended in diluted sulfuric acid. The SLR500 has the same chemistry, but with a nano-carbon coating on the lead plates, slowing the rate of sulfation, making them last longer than those in other batteries.

Safer

The SLR500 is the safest option for battery energy storage on the market. The fully sealed construction means there’s no electrolyte leakage. Inside, instead of a liquid sulfuric acid solution, we use a gel, which won’t leak or spill, even if the batteries are on their side or upside down. This revolutionary new battery also doesn’t create dangerous gasses when used normally.

Low Maintenance

Aside from regular functional testing and cleaning, the SLR500 doesn’t need extra maintenance or attention. The modular unit construction features front-facing terminals for easy maintenance.
